Focus on safety, fun & fitness
Welcome to AquaSafe Swim Programs.
We provide swim lessons at Sandwich High School in Sandwich MA.
We provide coaching for children and adults of all ages and abilities.
You can start with our baby swim lessons. Join us in the pool.
Our year-round program is committed to providing you and your family with an environment that will instill a lifelong love of swimming. We teach more than just swimming at AquaSafe. Our swimmers also learn values that will serve them in life. We want our swimmers to learn the values of community service, fortitude and integrity while having fun in their sport. Our program begins with baby classes that will introduce your child to water safety skills as young as 6 months old. We are the home of the Cape Cod Firefish. Our USA competitive swim team puts the focus on proper technique and fitness.
Our coaches help to instill the values we find important at AquaSafe: community service, fortitude, integrity, FUN. We also offer an Adult Swim Workout for parents who want to gain endurance and work on technique. We offer private swim lessons for children and adults that have special needs or extreme fears. As a triathlete, I offer clinics and kid triathlons throughout the year to share my passion with my swimmers. Our enthusiasm for what we do is infectious...please join us and swim for your life!

Dear AquaSafe and Firefish Families,
First and foremost, I am hoping that you are all well. I have had everyone in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you are healthy and safe.
I am emailing to update you on our situation. Pools are currently under Phase 2 of the governor’s reopening plan. The governor has not put any guidelines out for public pools yet. I have no way of moving forward until the guidelines are put out by Governor Baker. Once that happens, I can consult with Sandwich on their guidelines and move forward.
I have been in touch with Ben Van Dyk ,our head coach of the Firefish, each week. We are receiving lots of updates and information from USA Swimming and New England Swimming. Coach Ben has been reaching out to other USA swim coaches from other parts of the country as well. I have met with Wendy Pierce, Aquatics Director for Sandwich Schools, several times in the last month. We have been sharing ideas and plans for moving forward. However, we cannot formulate an actionable plan until we know what our guidelines will be from the state and the town.
I know this is not a very satisfying answer for any of us. I just wanted to send out an email to let you know that we are researching. We are trying to be as ready as we can once we hear from the state and the town about pool reopening.
Once again, thank you for your patience and support. Some of the emails and phone calls we have received have been truly heartwarming and uplifting.
We understand this program means a lot to our families. We know we provide lifesaving skills to your families. We are ready to jump in as soon as we can!
I have pasted some of the information from our previous email below for you.
I will continue to update you as more information comes in.
Please email me with any questions or great stories of how your kids have benefitted from our amazing instructors and coaches!
Stay well and enjoy the water safely until we meet again!
Love you and miss you!

CREDIT FOR CLASSES GOOD FOR TWO YEARS WHEN WE RESUME:
When we know our date of resumption, we will offer everyone who was registered for the Winter session (2/28-4/8) a credit for the missed lessons. The credit will be good for TWO YEARS from the date we are able to resume lessons.
Please note: Those credits will reflect the swim/dive classes for Friday March 6th and Saturday March 7th due to the fire alarm and water main issues. Divers will also include credit for missed class 2/27. Every cancelled class will be credited.
We cannot know at this point when we will be able to safely resume swim lessons. As soon as we know we will email all of you. You will have priority registration.
Our policy has always been as follows:
In the event of severe weather or pool closure/cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances, every effort will be made to reschedule the class. Refunds are not given.
This situation has been very difficult for us and has been financially devastating. .
We want to be there on the other side of this to continue offering the best quality swim program on the Cape!
With that being said, I realize this has had an economic impact on everyone.
If you are not able to work within our policy, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
or call 508-681-8555.
Thank you once again for your patience and support.
We love our AquaSafe Family and we look forward to swimming together again!
Please continue to follow the website and our Facebook page for updates.

Notice from 3/13/2020:
Dear AquaSafe Families,
I write this email with a very heavy heart. As you know, we are all dealing with the Coronavirus. This is a new situation for all of us. Given the information that we have at this point, we have made the decision to suspend our swim program until March 29th. On March 29th we will reassess and announce our next course of action.
There will be no class starting today Friday the 13th (kind of ironic).
Please realize that the virus is not spread in a pool or a hot tub that is maintained and disinfected properly. Our pool is well maintained, this is not a concern. Our concern is the responsibility to community health. Teaching swimming lessons to young children requires all of us to be in very close contact with each other. We feel it is best to take a break until we see how this situation unfolds.
When we know the date of resumption, we will offer everyone a credit for the missed lessons to be applied toward future lessons. This credit will be good for one year. We will not be able to offer individual refunds.
We will adjust the dates of this Winter session when we have more information. Those dates will include makeups for Friday March 6th and Saturday March 7th due to the fire alarm and water main issues.
We will also be putting our Spring session registration on hold for now. We do not currently know what that schedule will look like.
Feel free to call us at 508-681-8555 or email at email@example.com. Please be patient as we may not have answers to all of your questions.
Thank you in advance for your patience and support. Our priority is always your family’s safety. We love what we do and cannot wait to get back to giving your children the gift of swimming.

Pool Closure Policy:
In the event of severe weather or pool closure/cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances, every effort will be made to reschedule the class. If the schedule or instructor coverage does not allow for a makeup class, the class will be made up with a family swim time. Refunds are not given. Prolonged closure will be dealt with on an individual basis. Please check here regularly for cancellations or pool closures.
Family Swim Time: Come and swim with your entire family. Let them show you all their tricks.Play is the work of the child!
NOTE: If your child is tiny tot, tadpole, turtle, superfish he/she MUST have an adult in the water with them fro family Swim Time. They will not be allowed to swim during Family Swim Time without an adult in the water.
Missed Class Policy
If your child misses a class due to illness or other activities--we do not offer make up classes or refunds. Our classes are built with safety in mind. We cannot allow a swimmer who is not registered for a class to show up and participate in a different swim class. It is not safe. If your child misses three consecutive classes due to a medical issue, we will credit you if you have a doctor's note. Thanks for understanding safety is our priority.
